advanced materials, grown from coffee and other plants.
redo is a materials-science company. We engineer a patented bio-based composite from spent coffee grounds and flax — and turn it into real products. Our first brand is Ochis, eyewear made from coffee.
a materials company. not a single product.
redo owns the material — the chemistry, the patented process, and the know-how to shape it. Our biocomposite, Biocofex, started with eyewear, but the binder accepts several agricultural by-products, which makes it a platform rather than one product.
We work two ways: we build our own brands on the material, and we develop materials and products with partners who want to move away from fossil-based plastic.
biocofex. our biocomposite — measured, not marketed.
Biocofex is our patented bio-based composite. Its bio-based carbon content — around 80% — is verified to the ASTM D6866 standard. We are precise about what the material is, and honest about what it isn't.
bio-based feedstock
Biocofex is a solvent-free polyurethane on modified castor / soy oil, filled with prepared spent coffee grounds and reinforced with flax shives.
replaces fossil plastic
Bio-based inputs displace petroleum-derived plastics and reduce reliance on imported raw materials.
built for reuse
A durable thermoset designed to last and be used many times — its circularity comes from longevity, not disposability. We don't market it as biodegradable.
one material, different faces.
By changing the filler, fibre and surface, the same composite takes on distinct textures — room to design with, not just a single look.

you drink coffee
Every cup leaves spent grounds behind — a daily by-product the world throws away.
we collect the grounds
We gather spent coffee from roasters and shops — and flax shives from local industry.
we engineer the composite
A patented preparation and binder turn the waste into a strong, stable bio-based material.
we make the product
From frames to pens — the material is shaped into goods that are meant to be kept.
one material, many products.
Some are made and in hand today; others are in active development as we extend the material into thinner, lighter forms.
premium pens
Writing instruments cast from the coffee composite, finished with brass, copper and gilded metal — proof the material can carry a genuinely premium object.
the redo cup
A reusable cup, fully drawn by an industrial designer and ready to manufacture — an example of the material moving into everyday objects.
reusable packaging
Sturdy, multi-use boxes and cases that replace single-use plastic packaging — durable enough to keep. First pilots with specialty-coffee partners.
decorative & architectural panels
Surfaces carrying the natural grain of coffee and flax — a tactile, low-fossil alternative for interiors and product design.

Ochis is the brand built on the redo composite — and the proof the material holds up as a finished consumer product. Designed in Ukraine, crowdfunded across two Kickstarter campaigns, and sold internationally.
work with redo.
Whether you have a by-product looking for a purpose or a product looking for a more circular material, we develop it with you — from formulation to a validated part.
custom material development
We tune the composite — filler, reinforcement, finish, colour — to your performance and aesthetic needs, on a binder chemistry that already accepts multiple bio-fillers.
by-product valorization
Bring us your organic by-product — coffee grounds, flax, and beyond. We assess it and turn a waste stream into a material, and a material into a product made in your region.
product development & manufacturing
From concept to a validated, manufacturable part — including our move into thin-wall forms that open the material to packaging and lightweight goods.
proven, patented, supported.
The technology rests on two patents, and our work has been backed by European and international innovation programmes.
2 patents
On the material and on the method of making the composite.

built in our kyiv workshop.
Real benches, real presses, real people. The material and the products are developed and made by our own team — not outsourced, not theoretical.
